Alexa.com has shut down

Maybe someone like me missed the news that the Alexa service no longer exists. Why did this happen? Amazon is retiring Alexa as it feels that the cost of keeping the site active is not worth the expense now

Alexa, one of the world’s most popular go-to sources for digital content research, retired on May 1, 2022.

Founded 25 years ago by Brewster Calais and Bruce Gilliat, and then bought by Amazon in 1999, Alexa has become one of the most reliable sources of website rankings, content and keyword research offering global rankings, web traffic data and other important information about more than 30 million websites, which are often used by SEO specialists when analyzing sites around the world.

We retired Alexa.com on May 1, 2022, after more than two decades of helping you find, reach, and convert your digital audience. Thank you for making us your go-to resource for content research, competitive analysis, keyword research, and so much more. Said on Alexa.com.

However, the company said its Top Sites and Web Information Service APIs will still be active until December 15, 2022.

So, let's delete Alexa Rank from our audit checklists. One more era of SEO tools has passed, which will be remembered only by real dinosaurs of optimization.
